Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears signed linebacker Brian Urlacher to a one-year contract extension on Tuesday, keeping the six- time Pro Bowl selection with the team through the 2012 season.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to the team website, which cited a source close to Urlacher, the extension includes $6 million up front and an additional $1 million per year contingent upon his participation in 85 percent of all snaps.

The 30-year-old registered 123 tackles and five sacks for Chicago in 2007. In addition, he picked off five passes for 101 yards while returning one for a touchdown.

Urlacher, a New Mexico product, has accumulated 1,299 tackles, 37 1/2 sacks and 15 interceptions in 121 career games over eight seasons, all with Chicago.
